About Cosy Union Society
A Fresh Perspective on Student Life
University life often comes with an unspoken expectation that socialising must revolve around loud nightlife, crowded bars, and high-energy chaos. For many students, this default culture leaves little room to simply unwind, connect meaningfully, or catch their breath between demanding schedules.
Cosy Union Society was founded to create an authentic alternative. We built a welcoming, sensory-friendly haven on campus designed for quiet connection, shared creative interests, and calm community. Whether you are an introvert recharging your social battery, seeking alcohol-free day outings, or looking for low-key company while working through coursework, our doors are wide open.
There is no mould you need to fit here. You do not have to perform, stay the entire afternoon, or force conversation. Come as you are, grab a seat, and take things entirely at your own pace.
🌿 Zero-Pressure Space
No mandatory attendance rosters, forced icebreakers, or lingering obligations. Attend when your energy allows and drop off whenever you need to recharge.
☕ Calm & Inclusive
Dedicated to alcohol-free outings, sensory-conscious gatherings, indie cafe drop-ins, and relaxed campus environments built on mutual respect.
🎨 Shared Passions
A space for creative minds to flourish: tabletop gaming, creative writing, photography, cinema trips, art sessions, and silent study co-working.
🛋️ What You Can Expect
Welcoming smiles, relaxed group chats, quiet study lounges, board games ready to play, and day trips exploring zoos, nature reserves, and museums across Yorkshire.
